Human Breeding studies cannot be done for genetics. Hence, there necessitates a need to use pedigrees.
- This is because we cant designate mates
- We cannot accumulate data for statistical purposes*
Legend:
- ie.
- Every row represents a generation of a family, which is identifiable with a roman numeral
- Individuals are organized from left to right with Arabic numbers
- ie.
This is helpful to determine certain modes of inheritance such as:
- Autosomal Dominant
- Autosomal Recessive
- Sex-linked
